Kontexto Makes Major Enhancement to its Online Privacy Service

Company enhances its Tagcert™ online privacy service to offer instant tracking tag and cookie audits for companies impacted by the EU Cookie Directive.

London, UK (PRWEB UK) 24 March 2012
Kontexto, a high growth leader in real time data collection and analysis for media organizations, today announced that it has made a major enhancement to its Tagcert™ online privacy service in order to offer the worlds first instant tracking tag and cookie auditing service delivered as a web service and paid for online.

Tagcert™ was launched in September 2011 as an online privacy solution to help businesses accelerate their readiness to comply with the "EU Cookie Directive." The directive requires any website in the European Union to obtain prior informed consent before they can store or access information on a consumer's computer via technologies such as browser cookies. The United Kingdom has declared May 25, 2012 as the deadline for companies to begin complying with the law, and the rest of the European Union is expected to follow suit thereafter.

The necessary first step towards compliance for businesses operating in the EU is to perform a tracking tag and cookie audit on their websites. Tagcert™ makes this process instant, reliable and easy for businesses of all sizes.

Using a proprietary cloud based web crawling platform, Tagcert™ identifies the precise tracking tags and cookies in use on every single web page for any website domain. The resulting information is analyzed in real time against a known list of over 900 global tag vendors who use cookies as a main way to capture website visitor activity. Summary web dashboards and email reports are accessible to all senior level decision makers who need the most current online privacy data about their websites.

“Tagcert™ has been growing month on month due in large part to the fact that businesses can perform one time tracking tag and cookie audits instantly,” said Tom St.John, CEO of Kontexto. “Businesses can sign up, enter their website address, hit a button and Tagcert™ takes care of the rest. No software downloads, no lengthy sales process and most importantly no massive IT spend.”

Tagcert™ offers pricing tiers for single site audits and multi-site audits.

Introducing Tagcert... replacing monitr

Whether you agree or disagree with the EU cookie law and the UK cookie law, the fact is you need to perform a cookie audit and begin to take steps towards legal compliance.

Our hope is that we can make the process of performing a tracking tag and cookie audit as pain free as possible and as cost effective as possible.

But, beyond just the first step of performing a cookie audit on your website, our hope is to also grow into providing website operators with compliance tracking solutions so you can eventually become "certified" in how you handle cookies and report on how they are used.

With that in mind, what started out as monitr.com three months ago has now been rebranded as Tagcert.

It means just what it says, we want you to be "tagcertified" and aware of every third party tag and cookie in use on your website.

We feel the name is memorable and captures exactly what we hope to help you do as the May 2012 deadline for cookie compliance approaches in the UK.

Same vision. Same people. Same commitment to helping you deal with the EU and UK cookie laws.
